Publisher's Description:

Remote Process Viewer - "Remote Process Viewer" is a free remote Windows Task Manager for your network. It will show you detailed information about all the processes that are currently running on a chosen network client. It reveals such information as the process file name, full path, PID (process identifier), PID of the parent process, Memory usage, CPU time, Handles, user session ID, number of threads, and process priority.

There is absolutely no installation required. Since "Remote Process Viewer" uses Windows' built-in WMI service, it doesn't require you to install any additional software on the computers you are connecting to. Simply download and run the software. Then select the client you want to analyze and you'll see all the processes on the remote computer.

The program worked well for finding the process name and ID. I would have liked for the program to allow me to remotely kill a process though. I did use systernals pskill after Remote Process Viewer gave me the process name and ID I was looking for.

The following email to my computer guru reveals my frustration with this program, which I found totally undocumented and useless to me:

Googled - free software to view Microsoft Windows system process not shown by Windows Task Manager
Many results, one free - Remote Process Viewer - downloaded & scanned for virus 1st.
Ran it, got error message WMI error User credentials cannot be used for local connections.
Googled error message. Hard to follow, but chat advice did not seem helpful. Many messages back and forth how it was not working.
Went to uninstall it. Not there in Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs. Checked both Change or Remove Programs and Add/Remove Windows Components. As I said, not there.
Went to shortcut in Start Menu under Programs>Accessories>Remote Desktop Connection, right clicked & viewed Target:
Clicked on shortcut, it asked me to specify computer, the only choice it gave me was NONAME. Could not run it from that. The server name specified is invalid. Went to My Computer, right clicked for Properties. Got full computer name [omitted]. Received error message - The client could not connect. You are already connected to the console of this computer. A new console session cannot be established.
Do not think this is the same as the program I downloaded. Appears to be part of Windows system and in Windows folder.
I still have the downloaded file in my download save to location - RemoteProcesses.exe 223KB, which appears to be the application itself (not a setup program) and running this goes back to the original message WMI error User credentials cannot be used for local connections.

HOW DO I EITHER USE THIS OR UNINSTALL/GET RID OF IT? Am not sure, if I could figure it out, that it would provide what I was looking for. Just delete the program?

Got a better idea? A better download? Basically what I want to know is what Microsoft is doing when there is a ton of CPU activity but no further information under svchost.exe - NETWORK SERVICE and lsass.exe - SYSTEM. Also to view other Microsoft remote connection activity, which is not visible with Windows Task Manager.

I was only put off from this application by the password field being plain text, and in plain
sight on the main interface.

Otherwise, it looked promising.

needs to add a few things

Hi, I'm very pleased with the product that you're offering, but I must say there are a few extra features I wish it had. Such as: ability to view processes in real-time, not just snapshots, memory usage, and % processor usage. I would also like the ability to change/end processes remotely (with the appropriate permissions, of course). Thank you very much!
